Special election for 6th Legis. District
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday for the special election for Suffolk County's 6th Legislative District.
Republican Martin Haley, of Miller Place, faces Democrat Sarah Anker to fill the seat GOP Legis. Dan Losquadro held before winning election to the State Assembly.
Haley, 60, is town building commissioner in Brookhaven and board chairman of the Suffolk Federal Credit Union. He served as a county legislator from 1996 to 2003.
Anker, 46, is Brookhaven's director of energy and sustainability and a former Mount Sinai School Board member. She also founded the Community Health and Environment Coalition in response to reports of high breast cancer rates on Long Island.
