Suffolk Republican Chairman John Jay LaValle said the party still plans to turn over to District Attorney Thomas Spota the $100,000 County Executive Steve Levy contributed this year -- just not yet. New filings show the Suffolk Republican Committee with a combined $15,964 in three campaign accounts. Levy gave the money two weeks before agreeing to forfeit a $4.1 million war chest and forgo re-election. Deeming the $100,000 tainted, LaValle said he'd surrender it. But LaValle said the party's "first priority" is to help candidates -- and funds would be delivered post-election.
