Suffolk Legis. Jack Eddington (I-Medford) personally apologized to the family of the late Legis. John J. Foley on Friday, before the legislature voted to sell the county nursing home that bears his name. Eddington said he had promised Foley he would "never turn my back" on keeping the home a county operation. Legis. Edward Romaine (R-Center Moriches) asked County Executive Steve Levy's administration to follow the Foley family's wish and have the name removed once the building becomes private. He said the administration should ask buyer Kenneth Rozenberg to change the name of his corporations, Foley Operating LLC and Foley Land LLC. Mark Smith, a spokesman for Levy, said the county would relay the request.
