Tim Motz, chief spokesman for the Suffolk Police Department, is leaving for a $95,000-a-year post as director of efficiency and communication at the Suffolk Water Authority. Motz, 40, the former Southampton Democratic chairman, now paid $90,000 a year, is the latest administration aide to exit as County Executive Steve Levy officially becomes a Republican next month. Motz will oversee the water authority's communications and lobbying as well as the newly-created management unit handling special projects for new chief executiveJeff Szabo, another ex-Levy aide. Levy said he "can't blame" Motz for taking a job with "more responsibility and more money" and said the administration will miss his "valuable talents."
