Three Fire Island locations will be sprayed with pesticides for mosquitoes Tuesday and Wednesday night, the Suffolk County Department of Health Services announced in a release Tuesday.

According to the release, Davis Park, Point O' Woods and Ocean Bay Park will be sprayed with a pesticide known as Anvil to control adult mosquito populations.

Davis Park and Point O' Woods will be sprayed on Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Ocean Bay Park will be sprayed at the same time on Wednesday.

The process will include ground spraying with ultra-low-volume aerosol.

The release said that children and pregnant women should avoid exposure to the pesticide and recommended that areas that are sprayed should be avoided for the first half-hour after the spraying. Windows, doors and air conditioning vents should be closed during the spraying and can be reopened a half-hour after the spraying concludes.
