A 48-year-old Springs man remained in custody Tuesday, held on $200,000 bail, on a charge of sexually abusing a child under the age of 13, East Hampton Town Police said.

Martin Soto, of 113 Woodbine Dr., was charged with criminal sexual act involving a victim under the age of 13, police said. He committed the crimes in four locations in East Hampton Town during a three-year period beginning in 2002, a town police report said.

"There was a disclosure by the victim, which initiated the investigation," Det. Lt. Christopher Anderson, of the town police, said. Soto, who was arrested Friday at 2 Boat Yard Dr., East Hampton, appeared Saturday at Town Justice Court before Judge Lisa Rana, who set bail at $200,000.

As of Tuesday morning Soto had not made bail and remained jailed at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, Anderson said.
