State Police: Motorcyclist hurt in Sagtikos Parkway crash

State Police are investigating a motorcycle accident on the Sagtikos Parkway in Brentwood early Sunday that left the operator injured, authorities said.

The accident happened shortly after 1:30 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway between Exits 3 and 4, but the circumstances surrounding the crash have not yet been determined, a State Police spokeswoman said.

“It’s a one-vehicle accident — the motorcycle — it was one vehicle with a personal injury,” the spokeswoman said. She added that the motorcycle was towed but there was no information immediately available about how the motorcyclist was injured or the nature of the injuries.

The spokeswoman said the motorcyclist was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore.
