New York State Police have identified two people killed in a single-vehicle accident on Ocean Parkway in Babylon Town Sunday morning as Smithtown residents Daniel Fabrizio, 58, and Diane Seghposs, 58.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at 10:24 a.m., state police spokesman Dan Alghrim said. Police said Fabrizio was driving a 2013 Custom Assembly Convertible traveling eas on Ocean Parkway, east of Cedar Beach, when the vehicle left the roadway and struck the guide wire. Fabrizio and his passenger, Seghposs, died of injuries sustained at the scene.

Eastbound lanes west of Cedar Beach reopened after being closed for several hours due to the police investigation. Westbound traffic was not affected by the crash.

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Collision Reconstruction Unit and Forensic Identification Unit responded to the scene. 

Police ask anyone with information to call 631-756-3300.
