A 7-year-old Lindenhurst boy had head and back injuries after a falling tree limb hit him during Thursday afternoon's storm, Suffolk County police said.

The limb hit the boy in his back when it fell from a tree at about 3:08 p.m., knocking him to the ground, police said. The boy hit his head when he fell.

Police had no further information Friday on the injuries but said the boy, who lives near South 11th Street, was in stable condition when he was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.
