Thunderstorms that may strike Long Island Sunday night could bring flooding, damaging winds and hail, the National Weather Service warned Saturday.

The agency also said "an isolated tornado is within the realm of possibilities as well" and that heavy rain from the storms may cause flash floods.

"Thing start to go downhill maybe 5 or 6 o'clock," weather service meteorologist Bill Goodman said Saturday night. "I think the main show as far as thunderstorms is during the night for Long Island."

Saturday night through early Sunday afternoon likely will be mostly clear, Goodman said. Saturday night will likely see temperatures in the 60s.
