Stranded teens rescued after watercraft fails
Two teenagers made their way back to the beach after being stranded Saturday evening when the motor in their personal watercraft failed, Southold Town police said.
Victoria Wisner and Konrad Wroblewski, both 18 and from Southampton, were on a personal watercraft in the Peconic Bay between New Suffolk and Robin's Island when they encountered engine issues, police said.
Police received a call about the stranded watercraft, but marine units found the teens on the beach in New Suffolk just before 8 p.m. Neither was injured. Both had been expected back home at an earlier time and had been reported to be overdue in Southampton.
