Suffolk County police are investigating the shooting of a Huntington Station man in the street outside his house Saturday night, authorities said.

Police identified the man as Luis Hernandez, 21, of 11th Avenue and said he was shot in the leg. He was taken to Huntington Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Authorities said police were called to the scene about 8:15 p.m. on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived they found Hernandez lying in the street.

An investigation found Hernandez was shot by an unknown assailant.

No further information was available.
