A Suffolk County police car collided with a Hyundai, which then crashed into a third car, in Shirley on Sunday evening, authorities said.

The drivers of the 2013 Hyundai and the third vehicle, a 2014 Ford, were taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue to be treated for minor injuries, Suffolk County police said.

The two police officers from the Seventh Precinct, who were in a marked patrol car, were not injured.

The police cruiser was making a left turn onto Victory Avenue from River Road, police said. The police car and the Hyundai, which was traveling west on Victory Avenue, crashed. The Hyundai then hit the Ford, which was going eastbound on Victory Avenue.

Information about whether the officers had the cruiser’s lights and sirens on or were responding to a call was not immediately available.
