Suffolk Industrial Development Agency board member David Rosenberg is resigning, effective when a successor is appointed. Rosenberg said in a March 5 resignation letter that "responsibilities of my legal practice and to my clients have made it difficult for me to continue to devote the appropriate amount of time and attention to my board duties." He didn't return calls Friday.

Several legislative sources say the resignation came under pressure from County Executive Steve Bellone's administration; Bellone aides deny he was involved. Rosenberg's wife, Brenda, a Republican, works in the county labor department. She once served as top aide to former Presiding Officer Stephen Hackling (R-Huntington).-- Rick Brand
