A Setauket home suffered serious damage after firefighters battled a fire shortly after 8 p.m. on Ridge Road in Old Field on Wednesday Dec. 24, 2014, according to Suffolk County police. Credit: News 12

Suffolk County investigators are looking into whether a Christmas tree accident started a blaze that destroyed a home Christmas Eve near Setauket.

Setauket firefighters responded to the home shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday at 9 N. Ridge Road in Old Field, according to Suffolk County police.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze after the home had been engulfed in flames. No one was injured.

Arson detectives are investigating the blaze but have not indicated anything suspicious.
