Suffolk officer hurt in Bay Shore hit-and-run, police say
A Suffolk County police officer was injured in a hit-and-run near the South Shore Mall in Bay Shore Friday morning, authorities said.
A landscaping truck — which police said had been previously reported stolen — struck a parked police vehicle in a parking lot on June Court just before 9:30 a.m., according to a Suffolk County Police Department spokesperson.
The stolen truck fled the scene afterward, police said.
The officer, whom police did not identify, was transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to the police spokesperson.
Suffolk County police are still investigating the incident.
