A Suffolk County police officer sustained minor neck and back injuries Thursday morning in a one-car crash on Sunrise Highway in West Islip after his patrol car was cut off by a box truck, police said.

About 9:05 a.m., the officer was driving east on Sunrise near Robert Moses Causeway when the truck passed in front of him. His car smacked the center divider, then the right divider before coming to a stop in the right lane and shoulder.

The officer was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, police said.

Police said the driver of the box truck stopped but was not issued a ticket.
