Suffolk Off-Track Betting Corp., which declared bankruptcy last month, will close its lone South Fork branch -- the Southampton betting parlor -- Sunday after 35 years of operation.

The closing will leave Suffolk OTB with 10 branches. The agency shut its Huntington Station branch at the end of last month. The shutdown leaves the agency with only one East End betting parlor in Riverhead.

OTB officials, who are trying to streamline the betting agency to restore it to profitability, are still looking to shut down two more branches and decisions about which ones will close are expected by the end of the month, said Deborah Pfeiffer, OTB spokeswoman.

Despite the closing, OTB officials said bettors can use alternatives sites, including the Shirley branch and two Qwik Bet sites, at CB's Bar and Grill in Hampton Bays and the Publick House in Southampton.

Bettors also can open an Internet wagering account by applying on the homepage of the Suffolk OTB website.
