Suffolk picks new acting director of labor relations

The Bellone administration named a new acting director of labor relations to replace the former acting director of labor relations.

The latest fill-in: Jennifer McNamara, a $91-000-a-year senior assistant county attorney. Vanessa Baird-Streeter, Bellone's spokeswoman, couldn't say if McNamara may keep the post permanently or if a search is under way.

The post has had stopgap appointments since longtime labor relations director Jeff Tempera departed in June 2011 during the Levy administration. Paul Margiotta, now heading the traffic violations bureau, was acting labor relations director when he was chief deputy county attorney for County Executive Steve Bellone.-- Rick Brand
