The Suffolk County Police Department held its 53rd annual awards ceremony on Wednesday to honor the outstanding work of both sworn personnel and civilian members of the department, as well as community members who have acted with bravery. The ceremony was held at the Van Nostrand Theatre at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood.
