A marked police car responding to a call Wednesday night was involved in a collision with another car on Fifth Avenue in Bay Shore, Suffolk County police said.

Police said the officer, whose identity was not released, was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with minor injuries.

Occupants in the other car were not injured, police said.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Brook Avenue at 11:12 p.m. Police said the officer was responding to a call, but could not immediately say if the patrol unit had its lights and sirens on at the time.

Police said the investigation into the accident is continuing, but no one has been charged.
