Community members interested in learning more about police operations, including how officers are trained and their state-of-the-art equipment, can do so this week.

The John L. Barry Police Headquarters, 30 Yaphank Ave., Yaphank, Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will be open to the public during Suffolk County Police Week.

Visitors can tour the police museum and 911 communications center, and starting at 11:30 a.m. view live demonstrations by members of emergency services, the marine bureau and canine and aviation sections.
