Suffolk police identify pedestrian killed by car in Bohemia

Suffolk County police officials have identified the man who was struck and killed by a car in Bohemia earlier this week, authorities said Saturday.
Peter Sandstrom, 48, of Bohemia was killed while crossing Lakeland Avenue early Wednesday morning, police said.
He was hit by a southbound 2015 Hyundai XG350 as he crossed the road just north of 13th Street about 1:20 a.m., police said.
The driver of the car, Ricardo Garcia, 62, of Bay Shore, remained at the scene, police said. He was not charged with a crime.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said.
