Suffolk police said a Farmingville man was seriously hurt when he was struck by a Jeep while trying to cross Middle Country Road near College Road in Selden about 8:35 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2017. Credit: Stringer News Service

A Farmingville man was seriously injured Monday when police said he was struck by a Jeep while attempting to cross Middle Country Road/Route 25 in Selden, police said.

Suffolk County police said the accident occurred about 15 feet east of College Road at 8:35 p.m.

The victim, identified as Quincy Grant, 32, was taken by Selden Fire Department ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital with undisclosed serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the Jeep Wrangler was not injured. Joshua Ganci, 25, of Coram, was headed eastbound on Route 25 when he struck Grant, police said. Ganci remained at the scene and has not been charged.

The Jeep was impounded for a safety check.

Police said the investigation is continuing and ask anyone with information about the crash to call Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854-8652.
