A variety of items -- from power tools to jewelry -- will be available Wednesday at the Suffolk County Police Department's property auction in Yaphank.

The department's Property Section is conducting the auction at its building next to police headquarters at 30 Yaphank Ave., beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Motor vehicles and motorcycles will not be sold at the auction, but items available to bidders include hand tools, household and automotive items, gun scopes and cases, clothing, televisions and electronics, police said.

The auction will be held, rain or shine, police said. All items will be sold as is and are subject to New York State sales tax. Payments are cash only, police said.

More information is at the department website, suffolkpd.org, or by calling 631-852-6471.
