Two drivers were injured in a head-on crash that temporarily closed Granny Road in Medford Friday morning, police said.
Suffolk County police said the crash occurred near the intersection of Kettles Lane at 6:53 a.m.
Police said the crash involved an eastbound four-door Chevrolet sedan that “veered into the westbound lane,” colliding with a Ford Explorer. The driver of the Chevy had to be extricated by firefighters from the Medford Fire Department.
Both male drivers were taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue for treatment of what police described only as “non-life-threatening injuries.” Police did not release the identity of either driver,
A photo from the scene showed an SUV, its left front end smashed, and a sedan that had extensive damage.
Police said the crash remains under investigation.
