It's the season of giving and, once again, free turkeys and hams will be distributed to families in need Friday afternoon at Suffolk County police headquarters in Yaphank.

The 5th Annual Food Giveaway, hosted by Cops Who Care, a partnership between Suffolk and State police, will take place at headquarters at 30 Yaphank Ave. starting at 1 p.m., police said. Free turkeys and hams are available and all items will be distributed first-come, first-served, with one item available per family.
