Suffolk woman charged with impaired driving

A 47-year-old Riverhead woman, stopped late Monday by police for a traffic infraction in Mattituck, was arrested and charged with driving while ability-impaired by drugs.

Southold Town police said Rosemary Brown was charged with DWAI / drugs, as well as criminal possession of a controlled substance after the stop on Route 25 at 10:20 p.m.

Police said a search after the stop found Brown in possession of crack cocaine.

Brown was held overnight and faces arraignment Tuesday, police said.
