Suffolk workers being notified on early retirement

Letters have started going out to 587 Suffolk employees who applied for the early retirement incentive.

Those approved for the incentive will receive a letter signed by County Executive Steve Levy. But for those getting bad news, the letter is signed by budget director Eric Naughton.

Said Mark Smith, Levy's spokesman: "Sometimes even the county executive gets tired of saying no."
