A pedestrian who was critically injured last week when she was struck by a Jeep on Route 25 in Coram has died from her injuries, Suffolk police said.

Susan Restrepo, 56, of Coram, succumbed to her injuries Friday at Stony Brook University Hospital, where she had been in critical condition, police said.

The accident occurred around 8:20 p.m. on April 20 along Route 25, west of Homestead Drive.

The driver of the 1994 Jeep, Justin Vaughan, 28, of Port Jefferson Station, told police he was headed west on Middle Country Road when a vehicle with no headlights crossed in front of him and he swerved to avoid a collision, police said.

Vaughan's vehicle then hit Restrepo, police said.

The other vehicle was not involved in the crash and has not been located. Police said the Jeep was impounded for a safety check and Vaughan was not charged.
