Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who broke into a chicken farm and stole cash and coins this spring, Suffolk County police detectives said in a Tuesday morning crime alert.

Surveillance photos of the suspect show him with his head and face mostly wrapped in a white cloth and with a tattoo across his left bicep partly showing under the sleeve of a T-shirt.

The photos were taken at the office of Bello Poultry Farms on Union Avenue in Holbrook sometime between midnight and 3 a.m. June 11, Suffolk police Sixth Squad detectives said in the crime alert.

Police said the man got into the chicken processing area through an open window and stole $200 to $300 from a cash register and numerous blank checks from a file cabinet. Police said he wore a T-shirt with the Guess brand name in large print across the front.

Anyone who can help identify the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Suffolk County at 800-220-TIPS.
