Crime Stoppers and the Second Precinct Crime Section are searching for a suspect who tried to take a woman's wallet from a Huntington supermarket earlier this month, Suffolk County police said Wednesday.
Police also released photographs of the suspect taken from surveillance cameras at the store.
The woman was shopping at the King Kullen at 50 New York Ave. on April 6 when the suspect took her wallet, which was left on a child seat of a shopping cart, police said.
The woman immediately realized the man had taken her wallet and ran after him, police said.
"When they reached the exit, the suspect dropped the wallet and fled," police said in the news release. The suspect was seen leaving the parking lot in a white pickup, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers, 800-220-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
