An SUV went out of control and crashed into the front of a 7-Eleven store in Mastic Tuesday night, Suffolk police said.

No one in the store was injured, police said, but the driver of the vehicle was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment.

No information was immediately available concerning the driver's condition.

The SUV was traveling westbound at 7:26 p.m. when it crashed into the front entrance area of the store, located at 1236 Montauk Hwy., police said.

The circumstances surrounding the crash were still under investigation two hours later, police said, and no additional information was released at that time.
