Teen on mini bike hit by vehicle in N. Amityville

The 15-year-old driver of a mini bike remained in stable condition Sunday night after being struck by a 2007 Honda CRV in North Amityville late Sunday afternoon, police said.
Davonte Robinson, of Copiague, was attempting to cross Great Neck Road on his mini bike at about 5:40 p.m. when he was struck by the Honda, police said. Driver Esteban Rodriguez-Ynoa, 29, of Syosset, and his three passengers were not injured.
Robinson suffered fractures to both legs and was unresponsive at the scene, police said. He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center.
Police say both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and that they are investigating the crash. Police ask any witnesses to the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
