A 14-year-old boy was critically injured after he was struck by an SUV in Lake Ronkonkoma Thursday afternoon.

Around 4:30 p.m., a 2024 Volkswagen SUV was traveling on Smith Road, near Cenacle Road, when it struck the teen, who was Rollerblading in the street, Suffolk County police said.

The boy was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the Volkswagen was not injured and the car was impounded for a safety check.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
