Teen stabbed in Brentwood, police say

A teen was stabbed several times after being approached at an intersection in Brentwood on Thursday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
Police said the 17-year-old was approached by a "group of male youths" about 2:15 p.m. near the intersection of Second Avenue and Third Street, and was stabbed multiple times. The teen was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he is being treated. Police said he is in stable condition.
Third Squad detectives are investigating the case. No further details were available.
