Thomas Jaegaer, Gail Brunner, Kristen Brunner hurt in head-on crash in Wading River, cops say
Three people were hurt in a head-on crash Saturday morning in Wading River, police said.
Riverhead police said a 2003 Ford Escape crashed head-on with a 2014 Nissan Sentra on Sound Avenue shortly after 11:30 a.m.
Police said Thomas Jaeger, 55, of Riverhead, was driving the Ford Escape east on Sound Avenue when he crossed the double yellow line and crashed into the Nissan.
Wading River firefighters cut Jaeger from the SUV and Suffolk County police airlifted him to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The Nissan driver, Gail Brunner, 44, and her daughter, Kristen Brunner, 16, both of Baiting Hollow, were taken by ambulance to the Peconic Bay Medical Center with nonlife threatening injuries.
A State Police accident reconstruction team is working with Riverhead police on the investigation. No arrests were made.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Riverhead police at 631-727-4500.
