Suffolk homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death Tuesday of a man in Flanders.

Southampton Town Police and State Police responded to a 911 call of shots fired on Old Quogue Road at 9:37 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

When they arrived they found Thomas Lacolla, 27, of Riverhead, shot dead in a 2005 Mercedes-Benz parked in front of a residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Suffolk County medical examiner's office.

Police ask anyone with information to call the homicide squad at 631-852-6394 or Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
