Three injured in car-tanker crash

Three people were injured, one of them seriously, in a traffic accident involving an oil truck and two other vehicles in Ronkonkoma Thursday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
Jessica Jagodzinski, 29, of Lake Grove, was seriously injured, police said, when the 2006 Dodge Durango she was driving crashed into the rear of an oil truck that was parked and making a delivery at 2891 Ocean Ave. at 4:18 p.m., police said.
Luis Mejias, 39, of Bay Shore, Jagodzinski's boyfriend, was following Jagodzinski and crashed his 2009 Toyota Camry into the rear of her vehicle, police said.
Anthony Venditto, 43, of Shirley, the operator of the oil truck and Mejias sustained non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Jagodzinski was airlifted to Stony Brook University hospital and Mejias and Venditto were taken there by ambulance.
Detectives asked that anyone with information about the crash call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
