Three injured, one arrested in Southampton crash
Three people sustained minor injuries Monday after a collision in Southampton Town in which one driver was arrested and charged with drunken driving, Southampton Town police said.
Juan Diaz, 28, of Maple Avenue, Flanders, was arraigned Tuesday in Southampton Justice Court and released on $250 bail. His next court appearance was scheduled for April 2.
Diaz was driving a Honda Accord north on Flanders Road near the intersection of CR 105 in Flanders at 7:48 p.m., police said, when he crossed over a double yellow line and crashed into another vehicle.
Diaz, and the driver and passenger of the other vehicle, were taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Northampton Volunteer Ambulance for treatment of their minor injuries.
In addition to DWI, Diaz was also charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and other traffic violations.
