Ridge driver Timothy Falletta, 27, killed in William Floyd Parkway crash with oncoming car, police say

A Ridge man was killed Thursday night when the car he was driving north on the William Floyd Parkway crossed into the southbound lanes and struck an oncoming car, Suffolk police said early Friday.
Timothy Falletta, 27, of Village Drive, was traveling in his 2006 Mazda when the car crossed the median and struck a 2008 Kia operated by Robert Brady, 62, of Shirley, police said in a news release.
Falletta was declared dead at the scene, south of Route 25 on the parkway, authorities said. Brady was rushed to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where he was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries.
Suffolk police said Seventh Squad detectives were investigating the crash. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Further details were not available early Friday.
