Police are investigating a tire-slashing spree early Saturday morning in Farmingville.

About 50 cars had their tires slashed from midnight to 7 a.m., Suffolk County police said. Detective Sgt. James Madden said no one had been arrested as of last night.

Police received reports from residents on Roberta and Waverly avenues, College Hills Drive, Arlene Street and Hillside Road. The number of tires slashed on each car varied and no thefts were reported, police said.

Detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and were reviewing surveillance video provided by homeowners in an attempt to identify suspects.

Police ask anyone with information to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

"We want people to come forward," Madden said.
