Top Islip deputy might be looking to exit
Islip Supervisor Phil Nolan's top deputy, Jeanine Dillon, may be looking to exit, town sources say. Dillon, with Nolan since 2007, became the $103,000-a-year deputy supervisor last month, succeeding Joseph DeVincent. Insiders say Dillon began talking to Nolan about leaving recently after veteran political operative George Hoffman was hired as $89,000-a-year chief of staff. "There's no doubt that George is a factor," said a high-level source.
Dillon previously worked for Suffolk Executive Steve Levy, Huntington Supervisor Frank Petrone, former Brookhaven Supervisor John Jay LaValle, Rep. Steve Israel and former Suffolk Legis. Wayne Prospect. "Jeanine and I have talked about her future in the past," Nolan said, "but at this point no change in status is imminent." - Rick Brand
