A damaged track joint in New Hyde Park caused 10- to 15-minute delays on the Long Island Rail Road's Main Line Thursday morning, the commuter service said.

Spokesman Sam Zambuto said a track joint was reported damaged at about 6 a.m. and repaired at 7:10 p.m.

Zambuto said the repaired joint was a part of the track that affects the service's signal system. He expected trains to return to a normal schedule about an hour after the repair.

Just before 8 a.m., the LIRR had scattered 10- to 15-minute delays through Jamaica in both directions because of the repair.
