A 44-year-old Huntington woman died Saturday afternoon after crashing her car into parked vehicles, Suffolk police said.

Tracymarie Verme was driving her 1997 Lexus west on Central Street in Huntington, west of Clinton Avenue, when she struck the unoccupied vehicles at 4:31 p.m., police said.

Verme was taken to Huntington Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

"Something caused the vehicle to drift to the side and hit two parked vehicles," said Suffolk Det. Sgt. Scott Welshimer.

Detectives believe the woman "may have suffered a medical event," a police spokeswoman said.

Welshimer said someone who lives nearby heard the collision and called 911.

Verme is a 1989 Huntington High School graduate, according to a resume posted online. She most recently worked at the Home Depot in Huntington.

A store manager declined to comment Saturday night.

The Lexus was impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
