A West Islip man driving a landscape truck with a trailer was arrested on a drunken-driving charge after being stopped at a State Police commercial-vehicle enforcement checkpoint Monday morning in Babylon, authorities said.

Steven Douglas, 43, of 138 Paris Court, smelled of alcohol as police checked his rig for possible violations, police said.

Douglas was driving near Long Island Avenue and Deer Park Avenue in Babylon when he was stopped, police said.

In addition to driving while intoxicated, Douglas was charged with vehicle and traffic violations.
