A commercial truck driver died after possibly suffering a medical emergency and crashing his 18-wheeler on Tuesday afternoon on Zorn Boulevard in Yaphank, the Suffolk County police said.

The driver, 46, was behind the wheel of a 1995 tractor trailer going west when he crashed into a stone landscaping wall at 53 Zorn Blvd. at about 1:55 p.m.

The driver, whose identity is being withheld pending family notification, was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
