A box truck that accidentally rolled backward down a hilly street in Northport, striking a retaining wall and threatening to crash into a nearby home, has been secured and is being towed from the site Monday, Northport police said.

The incident occurred on Woodbine Avenue and closed the road near Fox Lane, police said. The road is expected to be reopened before 2 p.m.

Police described the vehicle involved as a delivery box truck -- and said a heavy-duty tow truck was on the scene to tow the truck from the area.

The truck struck a retaining wall and a witness said it was "dangling" on that wall, threatening to crash into the home.

No one was injured in the incident, police said.
