Two drivers hurt in Mattituck crash

Two drivers were injured and one was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center in a crash Tuesday evening in Mattituck, police said.

Southold Town police said no one was charged in the accident, which occurred at 6:21 p.m. at the intersection of Love Lane and County Road 48.

Police said Lyndell Taylor, 56, of Patchogue, who was driving south on Love Lane, failed to yield the right of way, crossing in front of Amanda Grell, 22, of Coram, as she drove west on Route 48.

Taylor was airlifted to Stony Brook with what police called non-life-threatening injuries.

The Mattituck Fire Department Rescue team took Grell to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead.
