Two hurt as car flips on Southern State
Two people were injured when a car overturned on the Southern State Parkway early Friday in North Amityville, state police said.
Both were transported to local hospitals. Their conditions were not known, though state police said the injuries were non-life threatening.
The accident occurred on the westbound parkway between Exit 33, Route 109, and Exit 32, Route 110. Surveillance from the scene showed the vehicle upside down against the concrete median wall.
The accident occurred at about 10:20 a.m., police said.
The road was closed for about an hour, backing up traffic through the area.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
